Huascaran Norte 6655m

The smaller of the two Huascaran peaks and the second highest summit in Peru. It certainly qualifies as an independent summit though, with over 600m of descent to the col known as Garganta that separates it from the higher Huascaran Sur. Normally climbed from Huaraz via the wee village of Musho.

We run trips to the Huascaran peaks almost every year and can arrange guides, porters and donkeys for private expeditions as well.. See our Huascaran information page and full dossier pages. For details of how to climb Huascaran Norte, Huascran Sur and the neighbouring peaks of the Cordillera Blanca in Peru,  please see our guidebooks, which are available in English and French editions, direct from us or from all good bookshops and mountaineering shops.
