Volcan Tacora 5980m
Tacora is an active volcano in the extreme north of Chile very near both the Peruvian and Bolivian borders. There is a large abandoned sulphur mine on the north side of the volcano.
Approaching Volcan Tacora from the east.
Tacora from the abandoned sulphur mine at 5000m.... much more snow than you would normally find on this volcano.
We can organise guided ascents of this peak. For details of how to climb Tacora and neighbouring peaks please see our guidebooks, which are available in English, Spanish, Polish and French editions, direct from us or from all good bookshops and mountaineering shops.
