A high, easy and quite popular peak on the Chile/Bolivia border. The IGM height is given as 5971m but the actual height is probably closer to 5990m, the height used here is from a handheld GPS reading taken in 2009. A road leads to 5400m on the north side of the peak, making this one of the easiest (nearly) 6000m peaks in the Andes.
Arriving on the summit of Sairecabur, looking to the north.

We have run trips to Sairecabur in the past and can easily do so again. For details of how to climb Sairecabur and the neighbouring peaks around San Pedro de Atacama, please see our guidebooks, which are available in English, Spanish, Polish and French editions, direct from us or from all good bookshops and mountaineering shops.
