Nevado del Huila 5364m

A remote and rarely climbed peak lying just a hundred kilometres or so from the big city of Cali. A long drive, difficult steeep and muddy jungle approaches and problems with getting permission to cross these indigenous lands deter most mountaineers.

The old normal route on the ewestern slopes was devastated by  the eruptions in 2007 and 2008, since when there may have been no ascents to the highest central peak, though both the north summit (c.5270m) and south summit (5028m) have been climbed.
