Ananea 5853m

In the northern Cordillera Apolobamba in Peru this is one of the most remote big peaks in the Andes. The ascent is relatively easy. An 'Andes' team  made the first British ascent of this peak in August 2002 by what we think was a new route on the SE ridge.

We can organise guided ascents of this peak. For details of how to climb Callijon and neighbouring peaks in the area such as Ananea please see our guidebooks, which are available in English, Spanish, Polish and French editions, direct from us or from all good bookshops and mountaineering shops.
